Bureau County grand jury returns two indictments for Class X felony cases

PRINCETON — The following cases were considered by the Bureau County Grand Jury on May 14:

Sonia Ibarra, 19, or Columbus, Ohio was indicted for the Class X felony offenses of unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (cocaine) and methamphetamine trafficking. She is accused of possessing, with the intent to deliver, more than 900 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine. An agent from Tri-DENT Task Force testified before the grand jury. Ibarra is in custody of the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office with bond set in the amount of $1,000,000- 10% of which must be posted for her release.

Ernesto Cabanzo-Rosas, 34, of Columbus, Ohio was indicted for the Class X felony offenses of unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (cocaine) and methamphetamine trafficking. Cabanzo-Rosas is accused of possessing, with the intent to deliver, more than 900 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine. He is accused of possessing with the intent to deliver more than 900 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine. An agent from Tri-DENT Task Force testified before the grand jury. Cabanzo-Rosas is in custody of the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office with bond set in the amount of $2,000,000- 10% of which must be posted for his release.

These indictments were presented to the grand jury by First Assistant State’s Attorney Thomas Briddick and Assistant States Attorney Daniel C. Anderson; and were returned before Judge Marc Bernabei and Judge James Andreoni. There were two suppressed cases.

These indictments are only accusations against the defendants. They are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
