MANLIUS - Bureau Valley senior Bryson Smith was not quite ready to hang up his golf clubs.
On Wednesday, he signed to play golf for Sauk Valley Community College and is excited for the opportunity.
“I love the game and I just wasn’t ready to be done competitively,” he said.
Smith said his path to Sauk came about after some golfers from Sauk reached out to him and said he should contact Skyhawks coach C.J. Wade.
“I have heard nothing but good things about him,” Smith said. “The first time I met him, I could just tell he was an awesome guy and it felt like a place to that I could fit in.”
Smith was All-BCR First Team selection last fall, leading the Storm with a 42 average and was meet medalist in five conference matches. He was a sectional qualifier as a sophomore.
