Somonauk, HBR draw top seeds for Little Ten boys tournament

Somonauk and Hinckley-Big Rock drew the top two seeds for the Little Ten Conference boys basketball tournament, which will start Saturday, Jan. 29 at Somonauk.

On the opening day, No. 8 DePue and No. 9 Hiawatha will play at 1 p.m., No. 7 Indian Creek and No. 10 LaMoille will meet at 2:30 p.m. and No. 6 IMSA and No. 11 Leland will play at 4 p.m.

On Monday, Jan. 31, host Somonauk will meet the winner between DePue and Hiawatha at 5:30 p.m. followed by No. 4 Serena vs. No. Earlville at 7 p.m.

In quarterfinal play on Tuesday, Feb. 1, No. 2 HBR will play the winner of the Indian Creek/LaMoille at 5:30 p.m. followed by No. 3 Newark vs. the IMSA/Leland winner at 7 p.m.

The semifinals will be held Thursday, Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. with the consolation bracket being held at the middle school.

The finals on Friday, Feb. 4 will start at 5 p.m. with the consolation championship followed by the third-place game at 6:30 p.m. and the championship at 8 p.m.

Game 1- No. 8 DePue vs. No. 9 Hiawatha, 1 p.m.

Game 2 - No. 7 Indian Creek vs. LaMoille, 2:30 p.m.

Game 3 - No. 6 IMSA vs. No. 11 Leland, 4 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 31

Game 4 - No. 1 Somonauk vs. game 1 winner, 5:30 p.m.

Game 5 - No. 4 Serena vs. No. 5 Earlvile, 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 1

Game 6 - No. 2 HBR vs. game 2 winner, 5:30 p.m.

Game 7 - No. 3 Newark vs. IMSA/Leland winner, 7 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 3

Game 8 - winner 4 vs. winner 5, 5:30 p.m.

Game 9 - winner 6 vs. winner 7, 7 p.m.

Consolation games at middle school

Game 10 - loser 4 vs. loser 5, 5:30 p.m.

Game 11 - loser 6 vs. loser 7, 7 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 4

Consolation finals - winners 10-11, 5 p.m.

Third place - losers 8-9, 6:30 p.m.

First place - winners 8-9, 8 p.m.
