COVID-19 deaths hit 700 in DuPage County

The DuPage County Health Department on Tuesday reported 542 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 3 deaths: 1 man in his 60s, 1 woman in her 80s and 1 man in his 80s.

The county now has seen a total of 39,750 coronavirus cases including 700 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of November 10 was 96.6%.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen zero consecutive days under the 12% threshold to return to Tier 2 mitigations. The region's positivity rate remained flat at 14.5%. Currently, 16.6% of medical/surgical beds are available and 19.3% of ICU beds.

The region has three consecutive days under the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability, and five consecutive days under the 20% threshold for medical/surgical bed availability.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 9,469 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 125 additional deaths Tuesday.

By town, Wheaton has had 2,042 total cases, Glen Ellyn 1,488, Lombard 1,976, Villa Park 1,178, Hinsdale 613, Westmont 1,009, Darien 782, Woodridge 1,289, Downers Grove 1,744, Elmhurst 2,016, Warrenville 613 and Winfield 478. Addison has had 2,574 confirmed cases, Naperville 3,260, Carol Stream 2,143 and West Chicago 2,335.
