Bolingbrook man waved handgun at White Castle employee: records

A Bolingbrook man was arrested after he yelled at White Castle employees while armed with a handgun because he was angry it was taking a long time for his food order, police said.

At 3:11 a.m. Friday, officers were sent to the White Castle at 120 S. Bolingbrook Drive in reference to a man who yelled at the employees and was armed with a handgun, Bolingbrook police said.

“The offender was apparently angry it was taking so long to get his food,” police said.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they saw a man later identified as Kelson Price, 32, of Westchester Court standing between cars in the drive-thru line who matched the description of the reported offender, police said.

Price was “given commands by officers and complied with all orders,” police said. After he was taken into custody without incident, officers located a loaded handgun in his waistband, police said.

Price was taken to the Will County jail and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by felon and aggravated assault.

On Friday, a judge found probable cause to continue Price’s detention and set his bond at $35,000.

A criminal complaint alleged Price knowingly waved a handgun at a White Castle employee and placed that person “in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery.”

The complaint also said Price was convicted of unlawful use of a weapon in a 2015 case in Will County.

On Feb. 22, 2016, Price pleaded guilty to the offense and he was sentenced to two years in prison and credited with already serving 214 days in jail, court records show
