Letter: Mark Gerhardt for judge

To the Editor:

I am writing to support Mark Gerhardt for the Office of Circuit Judge, Twenty Second Judicial Circuit, Fourth Subcircuit, McHenry County, Illinois.

I had the opportunity to serve with Mark Gerhardt as a colleague in the Judiciary in McHenry County for almost eight years before my retirement at the end of 2018. I know Mark to be an excellent judge and a person of the highest character.

Mark has the intelligence, the independence and the integrity which necessary qualities of a fine judge. Mark is dedicated to following the Rule of Law in his deliberations and decisions and to serving the interests of justice in our community.

Before serving the community as a judge, Mark has had a broad range of experience as a lawyer in both the public sector as a prosecutor and in the private sector in the private practice of law.

Earlier this year, the justices of the Supreme Court of Illinois made the unanimous decision to appoint Mark Gerhardt to Office of Circuit judge in the Fourth Subcircuit of the Circuit Court of McHenry County.

Mark Gerhardt has served an excellent judge since his initial appointment as an Associate Judge in McHenry County in March of 2011. If elected as a circuit judge, Mark Gerhardt will continue his excellent service as as a circuit judge in McHenry County.

I urge you to vote for Mark Gerhardt for the Office of Circuit Judge in the Fourth Subcircuit of the Circuit Court in McHenry County.

Michael J. Sullivan

Retired Circuit Judge
