Joliet man stole multiple liquor bottles from Maneuvers bar: cops

A Joliet man faces a felony charge after he stole multiple bottles of liquor from Maneuvers, according to police.

About 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Anthony Segura, 32, of the 100 block of East Jefferson Street was taken to the Will County jail on a felony charge of burglary in connection with the incident at Maneuvers, a gay bar at 118 E. Jefferson St.

Judge Ed Burmila signed a warrant for Segura’s arrest on Sept. 24. The warrant carried a $20,000 bond.

Joliet police Sgt. Dwayne English said Maneuvers was burglarized in the early morning hours of Sept. 8 and that multiple bottles of liquor were stolen.

“Detectives were able to identify Anthony Segura as the suspect,” English said.

On Sept. 22, Segura was charged with misdemeanor battery, court records show.

A criminal complaint filed against Segura alleged that he “knowingly without legal justification” struck a man about the face on Aug. 29.

On Sept. 26, 2013, Segura pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in a 2012 case and aggravated battery in a 2013 case, court records show.

Segura was sentenced to three years in prison in the 2012 case and 24 months of conditional discharge in the 2013 case, according to court records.

In 2011, Segura pleaded guilty to resisting an officer, court records show. He was sentenced to a year of conditional discharge, 22 days in jail and credited with already serving 11 days.

Prosecutors filed a petition to revoke Segura’s conditional discharge because he failed to comply with the sentence, court records show. The petition was withdrawn and Segura’s conditional discharge was terminated unsatisfied.
