Giants RB Saquon Barkley leaves game with knee injury

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was carted to the locker room after suffering an apparent right knee injury in Sunday’s game against the Bears at Soldier Field.

The injury happened midway through the second quarter. Barkley ran out to sideline and was tackled as he was heading out of bounds. Barkley immediately reached for his leg. He was down on the field for a short while.

Barkley was helped off the field, not putting any weight on his right leg. After an evaluation on the sideline, he was carted back to the Giants’ locker room. According to the Giants, Barkley was going to have an x-ray on his knee.

The Giants star running back was a Pro Bowl selection in 2018 and rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first two NFL seasons.
