Book clubs return to DeKalb Library, virtually

DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library’s General Book Club will meet via Zoom from 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 14 to discuss "A Piece of the World," by Christina Baker Kline.

Inspired by "Christina’s World," the best-known painting by artist Andrew Wyeth, Kline tells Christina Olson’s story by interweaving fact and fiction. Born in her family’s remote farm in a small coastal Maine town and with increasing disabilities due to illness, Christina was destined for a small life. Then Wyeth’s wife introduces him to the Olson family and for more than 20 years Christina becomes a source of inspiration to the artist.
