Oswego Village Board OKs video gaming for Pearce's Pub at Fox Bend golf course

Video gaming will be coming to Pearce's Pub and Banquets at Oswego's Fox Bend Golf Course, 3516 US Highway 34, as a result of a unanimous ballot by the Oswego Village Board during an Aug. 18 meeting.

Restaurant owner Allen Soboj told the board he is seeking to keep the restaurant open year-round and the video gaming will be a big help towards meeting that goal.

The proposed gaming area will be located inside of the restaurant, according to two design plans presented to the board. One design features five machines separated by barricades between machines, to accommodate for social distancing requirements, and separated from the rest of the dining area by ropes and stanchions. In the design, the machines would be located along the far wall of the dining space, near the end of the bar.

The second design features four machines, also separated by dividers and barricaded from the rest of the dining space by barriers, ropes, and stanchions. This design would have the machines located near the entrance to the indoor dining space, and the outdoor patio.

Village Administrator Dan Di Santo told the board will Soboj will be able to choose the design plan since board members did not express preference for one of the two designs.

An installation date for the machines was not discussed during the meeting.
