Fox Valley Orthopedics welcomes new spine specialist

GENEVA – Fox Valley Orthopedics in Geneva has welcomed Dr. Lauren Matteini to their team of physicians, according to a news release.

Matteini is a board-certified, fellowship trained spine specialist who is now accepting new patients.

She received her Doctorate of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. She remained there to complete her orthopaedic surgery residency at George Washington University Hospital. She then joined the Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery departments as the spine Fellow at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Matteini is published in medical journals and author of several book chapters.

“I treat both pediatric and adult patients and care for the whole spine - cervical, thoracic and lumbar areas. I am able to utilize both nonsurgical treatments and highly advanced surgical procedures to improve quality of life,” Matteini stated in the release. “I specialize in deformity correction, revision spine surgery, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, discherniation, nerve impingement, and stenosis. Minimally invasive and motion-sparing techniques are also in my toolbox for certain patients and disorders. As a physician, I also enjoy teaching others, and being a fierce advocate on my patients' behalf.”

Matteini will be on staff at Advocate Sherman Hospital, AMITA Health Saint Joseph Hospital and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.
