Corn Fest food truck to set up shop in DeKalb Friday serving up scrumptious carnival treats

DeKALB - Those longing for a sweet and crunchy funnel cake or Wisconsin cheese curds and other summer festival fair food need not wait until next year's Corn Fest, as a local carnival vendor will set up shop in DeKalb for two weeks beginning Friday.

Tom Thebault, who runs the Corn Fest carnival truck is bringing his food trailer to the municipal parking lot at the corner of Fourth and Grove Street from 11:30 am. to 7 p.m. Friday and all weekend for the next two weeks.

According to Corn Fest organizers -- who decided to cancel this year's festival due to crowd control mandates from the coronavirus pandemic -- made the announcement on social media Monday.

The Thebault family will be serving up funnel cakes, corn dogs, chicken fingers, curly fries, Wisconsin cheese curds, lemonade shakeups and soda. Payments will be cash only.

"Let's show them how much we love their food," the post states. "They are considering staying for a couple weeks, so let's show them how much we have missed this food!"
