Report: Bears trade former second-round pick Adam Shaheen to Dolphins

The Chicago Bears traded tight Adam Shaheen to the Miami Dolphins on Saturday for a conditional 2021 sixth-round pick, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Shaheen, a second-round pick in 2017, looked like a long shot to make the 53-man roster this season after general manager Ryan Pace brought in multiple players at the position this offseason, including Jimmy Graham and Demetrius Harris, along with taking Notre Dame's Cole Kmet in the second round of the NFL draft this spring.

The Bears also released veteran tight end Ben Braunecker earlier this week.

After being drafted 45th overall, Shaheen registered just 26 catches for 249 yards and four touchdowns in 27 games.
