PRINCETON — A Toulon man will spend 3 years behind bars for burglary.

Andrew W. Szparkowski, 29, was sentenced this week by Bureau County Circuit Judge C.J. Hollerich to 3 years in prison for Class 2 felony burglary

On Dec. 31, 2019, Szparkowski was witnessed on video loading a cart with items for sale at Walmart in Princeton and leaving without paying for the items. He could then be seen on video later on the same day loading another cart with items and leaving without paying for them. Szparkowski admitted to authorities he stole the merchandise.

Bureau County First Assistant State's Attorney Thomas Briddick prosecuted the case. Szparkowski was represented by Bureau County Public Defender Ray Nolasco.
