Bolingbrook church opens micro food pantry

On May 9, members at Friendship United Methodist Church stocked their new micro food pantry at 305 E. Boughton Road in Bolingbrook.

Sponsoredby the Friendship United Methodist Women’s Group, the micro pantry's organization's message is, "Take what you need. Leave what you can."

The micro pantry is in the doorway at the front of the church building. People ho need food are welcome to stop anytime.

To doante food, place non-perishablefood items inside the pantry. If there is not enough room, put the donation in one of the bins or under the pantry if the food is in bags or boxes.

The mostpopular items are peanut butter, jelly, pasta and sauce, pudding and fruitcups, juice boxes, pancake mix and syrup, canned fruit and vegetables, cereal, granola bars, and condiments such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and pickle relish.

Do not donate bags of beans.
