Tomorrow, Friday, May 1 will mark the return of golf to Oswego.
Fox Bend Golf Course at 3516 Route 34 will be among the many golf courses across the state re-opening amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In extending his stay at home executive order through May 30 last week, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker announced golf courses could re-open if they operate under strict safety measures.
Owned and operated by the Oswegoland Park District, Fox Bend will operate in accordance with Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity restrictions that include limiting play to twoesomes only, scheduling tee times 15 minutes apart and require the use of privately owned pull carts only.
In addition, the Fox Bend clubhouse and golf shop will remain closed.
Golfers will also be required to maintain six feet of social distance or more at all times.
Beverage carts will not be in operation, but riding carts will be allowed for individuals with physical disabilities or limitations that prevent them from walking the course. Only one person will be able to ride on the carts.
