Sycamore approves new park in North Grove Crossing

At a board meeting last month the Sycamore Park District agreed to develop a new park on the north side of Sycamore after reaching an agreement with the North Grove Crossing Homeowners Association.

"This agreement for a new park was made possible by the hard work and desire of Shana Langrehr, of Townsend Realty and Management, who manages the HOA for North Grove Crossing," the park district said in a statement. "It was her ability to bring title to this park site into the hands of the HOA who then made great efforts to meet with and plan for the transfer of title to the Park District."

The park district will, over the next five years, work with the neighbors to develop a site plan, cost estimates, and budgeting for a five-year, phased set of improvements. Much like its successful partnership with Sycamore Creek HOA to develop Dr. John Ovitz Park, the Park District looks forward to working with the North Grove Crossing residents on its neighborhood park development.

“The North Grove Crossing Homeowners Association understands the importance of parks in our new neighborhoods, and I applaud their efforts to provide us a site that is graded and seeded to the plat for that subdivision," park board president Bill Kroeger said. "These new park sites have been a challenge to bring to reality because of the complications of gaining title to them.”
