Republic announces waste pickup changes

DIXON – After Monday, Republic Services will take only garbage and recyclables in its carts until further notice.

Republic provides curbside waste pickup services for several local towns, including Sterling and Dixon.

Yard waste and bulk waste item pickup also will be suspended.

Sterling residents are asked to mulch, compost or store yard waste until collection resumes, the city said in a Facebook post; those unable to do that should call the public works department at 815-632-6657.
