GLEN ELLYN - A Feb. 2 fire at a Glen Ellyn restaurant is under investigation by the DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force.
The fire occurred at Rue, a Cajun-inspired restaurant located near Main Street and Crescent Boulevard, at about 8:30 p.m., according to a fire department news release.
The fire was spotted near the rear of the building involving several large trash containers. It reportedly spread into the attic of the building, the release stated.
Fire personnel removed much of the building's ceiling to gain access to the blaze. There were no patrons in the eatery at the time of the fire, fire officials said.
The fire also impinged electrical service for several buildings in downtown Glen Ellyn, the release stated.
A Glen Ellyn firefighter sustained a minor injury and was transported to Central DuPage Hospital where he was treated and released, according to the release.
Glen Ellyn firefighters were assisted by firefighters from several surrounding communities.
