Samuel Foxvog

TISKILWA — Samuel Erik Foxvog, 27, of Tiskilwa died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019, following a vehicle accident in Maryland.

He was born Aug. 7, 1992, in Athens, Ohio, to Jim and Meg (Shephard) Foxvog.

He attended Princeton High School, then studied social science at Hesston College in Kansas and Goshen College in Indiana, graduating in 2017. He served as a volunteer with homeless ministries in Oregon and California, and later worked as an English teacher in China and Thailand.

Samuel’s Christian faith was important to him. He was baptized by Plow Creek Mennonite Church at Menno Haven in 2010. He served as an active part of Revive Indiana while living in Goshen. He considered himself a journalist and contributed to newsofx. He was also currently working on an illustrated calendar and a children’s book at the time of his death.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Meg; a brother, Daniel; his grandmother, Margie; and extended family.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Willow Springs Mennonite Church in Tiskilwa. Visitation will be at the church, beginning at 3 p.m., and a potluck dinner will follow the service. Informal or formal attire is acceptable.

Memorial gifts can be made to the two non-profits Samuel actively helped — Seed of Hope Farm and The Bison Foundation.
