Battery investigation

Yorkville police are investigating a reported battery that took place at 7:40 p.m., Dec. 24, at The Reserve at Fox River apartments, in the 1200 block of Marketview Drive. Officers reported that three unknown male subjects exited a silver sedan, battered the victim, and then left the area. The victim suffered minor injuries to the face. The victim was later cleared by emergency services, and further treatment was refused. The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft

Yorkville police arrested Shannon Alger, 36, of the 200 block of East Main Street, Yorkville, on a charge of retail theft, after responding to a report at 12:26 p.m., Dec. 24, in the 200 block of East Veterans Parkway. Upon arrival, officers learned that Alger had taken approximately $76 in merchandise. Alger was taken into custody, and later released on her own recognizance with a date to appear in Kendall County Court.

Theft investigation

Yorkville police are investigating the reported theft of a wallet that occurred at 7:30 a.m., Dec. 26, at a business in the 300 block of East Veterans Parkway. The contents of the wallet, valued at about $220, included identification cards, money, and credit cards. The investigation is ongoing.

Theft investigation

Yorkville police are investigating a reported theft that occurred at 8:55 p.m., Dec. 28, at a business in the 100 block of East Van Emmon Street. Upon arrival, officers were informed that money had been reported missing from a server's receipt book. The server told the officers that the receipt book had been moved from the table to an employee-only area by an unknown person. The investigation is ongoing.
