Mayslake in Oak Brook to conjure 'Wizards, Wands and Wildlife'

Discover fantastic creatures at family program

OAK BROOK – Families can spend an enchanted evening at Mayslake Hall discovering fantastic creatures and the magic of nature at “Wizards, Wands and Wildlife” from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 3 and 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 4 at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31st St., Oak Brook.

Witch and wizard families will be welcomed in the great hall where they will meet their teachers, take magical photos, and receive wands to prepare for the evening ahead, a news release stated. As the magical courses begin, participants will learn about nocturnal creatures, insect transformations, and the ways wildlife find food. They’ll even solve mysteries by investigating real animal bones.

Participants are invited to dress in their favorite magical attire for the evening. Free refreshments will be available, and participants can purchase their own stuffed cuddly creatures at the gift shop. The program costs $15 per person and is for ages 8 and older; guests younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. One may register at tinyurl.com/rpagnuj or 630-942-6200.
