Judith Fitzke

Judith Lee (Judy Znaniecki) Fitzke, born in Peru on Dec 11, 1942, passed away Nov. 18, 2019, in Phoenix, Ariz., at the age of 76 after a stroke related to her long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Judy was a graduate of La Salle-Peru Township High School (1960) and Northern Illinois University (B.S/M.S.) and proudly worked as an elementary teacher in the Phoenix at Kyrene Elementary School District and also at La Salle Catholic School, La Salle.

Judy is survived by her husband of 47 years, William James “Bill” Fitzke; her son, Dominic Magnoni (Karen Magnoni); her three grandchildren, Declan, Giavanna and Marco Magnoni; and her brother, Scott Znaniecki. Preceding her in death were her parents Emil and Dorothy (Neff) Znaniecki and her brother, Ronald Znaniecki.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 29 in Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, Ariz., with internment at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery, Phoenix.
