Michael Modesitt, formerly of Seneca, was commissioned as a chief warrant officer in the U.S. Navy on Nov. 1. Modesitt enlisted in December 2001. He has served on four ships and two shore duty stations. He has a wife, Karen, and three children, Kassidy, Karisa and Garrett.
