Police: Park Forest man raped teen babysitter in Monee

A 34-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly raped a teenage girl while she was babysitting in Monee, police said.

On Wednesday, Will County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a hospital after receiving a report of a girl between the age of 13 and 17 who said she had been sexually assaulted by a relative’s boyfriend, sheriff spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said in an email.

The teen told the deputies that while she was babysitting at a home in Monee, Jamarr D. Blair, of 300 block of Sauk Trail in Park Forest, arrived for a visit and “forced himself on her,” Hoffmeyer said.

Sheriff’s detectives then picked up Blair and brought him in for questioning, she said. About 4 a.m. Thursday, he was booked into the Will County jail.

Blair has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, three counts of criminal sexual assault by force and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to court records.

A criminal complaint alleged Blair committed multiple acts of sexual assault against the victim that caused bodily harm and was done by the “use of force or the threat of force.”

Blair is being held in jail on a $1 million bond. He needs to post $100,000 for his release from jail.

Blair was scheduled to appear in court Friday afternoon for a hearing on his bond.

He also is scheduled for another court date on Oct. 2, according to jail records.
