Kane Home Cabinetry and Design opens showroom in St. Charles

Showroom located at 410 S. Third Street

ST. CHARLES – Whether you are looking to give your home a fresh look or you want to create a certain atmosphere in your new home, Kane Home Cabinetry and Design is there to help.

The kitchen and bath boutique recently opened a showroom at 410 S. Third Street in St. Charles. The products they sell are on display in different kitchen layouts in the showroom to give customers ideas for their own homes.

"When homeowners are considering cabinets for their homes,  they want a certain quality," said Janine Severyns, designer for Kane Home Cabinetry and Design. "They don't want their new cabinetry to fall apart. The way to show them that you have quality is if they can actually see the cabinet and open the doors and drawers. We can educate them on how our cabinetry is constructed."

The business also sells other products such as countertops along with tile and flooring. Severyns, who has a degree in interior design and has more than 15 years of experience designing more than 200 kitchens and baths throughout the western suburbs, will personally work with the customers.

"I'm helping the homeowners select all of their materials so it ends up being the way they want it to be," she said. "So they're not on their own."

The staff at Kane Home Cabinetry and Design can also work with a customer's builder. The company is known for its flexibility.

"We're a one-stop shop," President Amy Blood said. "People can come in and get what they need, whether it's just cabinets and they have their own installer or if they want everything for their project through us. We're flexible that way.”

Blood grew up in St. Charles and the business is a family affair. Sister-in-law Sarah Griffin is in charge of the finances for Kane Home Cabinetry and Design and her other sister-in-law, Carrie Brizuela, is also a partner in the company. She shares the title of vice-president with Blood's friend, Michele Stallmann.

Kane Home Cabinetry and Design formed last fall.

"We see a niche for a company like us in the market," Blood said. "We've all been in the building business for ages. My husband, Charlie Blood, is a builder. He owns Kaneland Properties."

Kane Home Cabinetry and Design works with partner vendors that are known for their quality products, including Woodharbor Custom Cabinetry, Siteline Cabinetry, SubZero, Wolf, Cove and Cambria.

The company tries to work with area vendors as much as possible. For example, its lighting and plumbing items are from Ferguson, which has a showroom in Downers Grove.

"They're awesome to work with," Severyns said. "I can take customers to their showroom so they can see and choose their materials."

And she enjoys being able to help people.

"I can't imagine having another job," Severyns said. "I love working with beautiful things and helping homeowners get a beautiful home. It's a passion for me."
