Jimmy John’s sandwich shop opens Tuesday

PRINCETON — A new Jimmy John’s sandwich shop at 1210 N. Main St. is now open and ready to serve gourmet sandwiches to local customers.

“This will be my first store in Princeton and our team is excited to serve fresh, fast and tasty sandwiches to a new set of customers in the area,” said owner Art Riewaldt.

“We’re also excited for our customers to try our new products including the 9-Grain Wheat Sub, Kickin’ Ranch, sliced pickles and our 16-inch Giant sandwiches.”

Jimmy John’s is located at the site of a former KFC restaurant, which was torn down in January.

Construction began on the new Jimmy John’s building in early April, and the shop’s official Princeton Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting took place Tuesday.

Riewaldt said he plans to hire around 25 employees. He said anyone interested can apply at the store, open daily Sunday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and fill out an application.

Founded in 1983 by Jimmy John Liautaud in Charleston, Ill., Jimmy John’s has built its reputation on serving up fast and fresh sandwiches in communities across the country and is one of the fastest growing franchises in the U.S. with more than 2,800 Jimmy John’s locations across 43 states.

The new Jimmy John’s in Princeton will deliver sandwiches customers’ doors if they are inside the store’s delivery area. The shop also offers convenient catering for any occasion. Customers can stop by the new location, call the store at 815-915-2070 or order online at online.jimmyjohns.com.
