District 300 board to consider hiring new principals, deans and athletic director

The Algonquin-based School District 300 Board will meet Tuesday to consider a handful of administrative transfers and hires for the 2019-20 school year.

The vote will include the hiring of principals, deans of students, an athletic director for Jacobs High School and other high-level positions. The effective date of employment for all is July 1, according to district documents.

Joseph Benoit is set to become athletic director at Jacobs High School. He currently is the interim athletic director. He will earn $93,796 in the role, according to district documents.

Dundee and Carpentersville middle schools are set to see new deans of students. Janine Glenn is expected to be dean of students at Dundee Middle School, and Matthew Langton is expected to serve in the role at Carpentersville Middle School.

If the board approves the hires, Glenn will earn $106,265 and Langton’s salary will be $70,392, according to district documents.

Glenn currently is assistant principal at Carpentersville Middle School. Langton currently teaches in the district’s alternative education department, according to the district’s staff directory.

Carpentersville Middle School and both Hampshire and Perry elementary schools could get new principals in the upcoming school year.

The board will vote on whether to make Martina Smith principal of the middle school; Susan Rohlwing principal of Perry Elementary School and Lisa Van Wageningen principal of Hampshire Elementary School, according to district documents.

Smith would make $115,636; Rohlwing would make $122,715; and Van Wageningen would make $104,740, according to district documents.

Smith currently is principal of Meadowdale Elementary; Rohlwing currently is District 300’s director of teaching and learning; and Van Wageningen works with special education students at Hampshire High School, according to the district staff directory.

The board also will vote to make Kristin Corriveau the executive director of early childhood and college programs. She would earn a salary of $148,187 in the role, according to district documents.

The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the district’s central office, 2550 Harnish Drive, Algonquin.
