Lawrence Anthony Piraino, 72, of Streator passed away peacefully at his home on June 9, 2019. Solon-Telford Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation rites. Services will be private. Larry was born in Streator to Anthony and Evelyn (Carpenter) Piraino on August 15, 1946. He attended area schools and graduated from Streator Township High School in 1964. He entered the military shortly after high school and served his country until discharged in 1970. He married Kathy Scott (nee Cherveny) on April 1, 2006 in Key West, Florida. Larry is survived by his wife and their Yellow Lab, Sully; his daughter, Melissa Sheridan of Streator; his step-son, Bryan Scott of Chicago; his grandson, Andrew Benner (Skyler Doss) of Streator: his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Sheridan of Streator; his sister, Pat Long of Streator; his brother, Ed Piraino (Terry Moore) of Champaign; his nephew, Duane (Debbie) Long of Quincy and his niece, Lori (Jim) Smith of Streator. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Todd Piraino; and his brother-in-law, Duane Long.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the donor's choice or to OSF Hospice of Ottawa.
