Reagan Johnson

LUBBOCK, Texas — Reagan Grace Johnson passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 20, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Reagan was born Jan. 9, 1999, in Lubbock. She is the daughter of Greg and Debi Johnson of Wyanet.

Reagan was a 2018 graduate of Monterey High School. She was deeply involved in the ag program, showing goats and rabbits, and cotton judging. She also played basketball and softball, pitching her team to many championships.

Reagan was pursuing a degree in animal science and hoped to fulfill her dreams of becoming either a game warden or veterinarian. She volunteered at a local animal shelter. A few years ago, Reagan had begun following her passion of modeling. She had taken part in many live events and was on her way to meet with a modeling agency in Dallas, Texas, when she became ill.

She is survived by her parents; four sisters, Juliann Fritz of Sheffield, Amanda (Jake) Coomer of Princeton, and Shannon and Allison Perry of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Ben (Meghan) Wagner of Aberdeen, S.D., and Kevin Perry of Lubbock, Texas; a niece, Hannah Fritz; three nephews, Brantly Fritz, Aaron Wagner and Alexander Coomer; and her grandparents, Nitavonne Johnson of Idaho, and Dan and Carole Yandel of Wyanet. She is also survived by a dear friend, Jack Perry of Lubbock, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Arnold Johnson, and a brother, Aaron West.

Reagan has been cremated as she wished. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Walnut Bible Church with the Rev. Eldon Cook officiating. Memorials will be divided between the Bureau Valley ag program and local 4-H.
