The following are upcoming Easter events scheduled in the area.

DeKALB

Breakfast with the Bunny

Time: 9 a.m. Saturday, April 20

Place: Hopkins Park Terrace Room

Cost: $7 adults and children age 2 and older

Breakfast, provided by Fatty’s Catering, includes eggs, pancakes, sausage and more. The Easter Bunny will visit from 9 to 10 a.m.

Easter Egg Hunt

Time: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20

Place: McCormick Park

The event is for ages 10 and younger. Sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church.

Easter Egg Hunt

Time: 10:45 a.m. Saturday, April 20

Place: Hopkins Shelter House

Cost: Donation to Safe Passage

The egg hunt, for ages 2 to 10, is separated by age into designated areas. Sponsored by DeKalb Crossroads Church and DeKalb Park District.

Easter Egg Hunt

Time: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20

Place: NIU North 40, intersection of Locust Street and Kishwaukee Drive

GENOA

Easter Eggstravaganza

Time: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 20

Place: Genoa Faith United Methodist Church, 325 Stott St.

Event features crafts, games, cookie walk and a $3 pancake breakfast from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The egg hunt for ages 2 and younger starts at 10:15 a.m., ages 3 to 5 at 10:30 a.m., ages 6 to 8 at 10:45 a.m. and ages 9 to 10 at 11 a.m.

Time: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20

Place: Chamberlain Park

Children will be separated by age groups: 10 a.m. children 4 and younger, 10:30 a.m. children 5 and older. The Easter Bunny will visit.

KIRKLAND

Adult Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

Time: 6:30 p.m. check-in opens, 7:50 p.m. costume judging, 8 p.m. shotgun start Friday, April 12

Cost: $15

Adults can bring a basket, flashlight and their running shoes to search for more than 3,000 eggs hidden on a 3-acre parcel. Inside some of the eggs will be prizes; top prize is $100 cash. DeBennedetto’s of Kirkland will sell food, beer and wine, with 10% of sales benefitting DeKalb County Community Gardens.

SANDWICH

SHABBONA

Easter Egg Hunt

Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20

Place: Shabbona Fire Department, 103 E. Navaho Ave.

Ages 0 through fifth grade should bring a basket for the hunt. Lunch of hot dogs, chips and drink will be provided. The Easter Bunny will visit and there will be games and a raffle.

SYCAMORE

Flashlight Egg Hunt

Time: 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 18

Place: Sycamore Park District Community Center

Cost: $12 residents, $15 non-residents

Ages 12 to 16 can bring a flashlight to hunt for Easter eggs, candy and prizes. Indoors, there will be a DJ, games, activities and snacks available for purchase.

Cost: $7 resident, $8 nonresident

Sycamore Police Department Egg Hunt

Time: 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20

Place: Sycamore Park District’s Good Tymes Shelter

Children will be divided into age categories for three separate egg hunts.

Community Egg Hunt

Time: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20

Place: Sycamore High School, 427 Spartan Trail

There will be 20,000 eggs, games, giveaways, face painting, prizes, food trucks and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

WATERMAN
