Run-ins with the law have affected the licenses of two local nurses, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation reported Tuesday.

Todd Lazio, 46, of Sterling, last month had his licensed practical nurse license placed in refuse to renew status.

Lazio was arrested June 9, 2017, after setting a gas can on fire in front of a Sterling home when the resident was inside. He pleaded guilty Jan. 25 to reckless conduct for knowingly endangering the safety of another person; a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge was dismissed.

He also failed to notify the department of the incident, the IDFPR said.

Also last month, Rachael Cornwell, 29, of Dixon, had her registered nurse license suspended for at least a year.

Cornwell was arrested March 5, 2016, and pleaded guilty that May 16 to misdemeanor DUI, for which she was sentenced to a year and a half of court supervision and ordered to undergo alcohol treatment.
