POLO – Trudi E. “Lizzy” Bowen, 52, of Polo, died suddenly Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, at her home.
Trudi was born Sept. 5, 1966, in Freeport, the daughter of Larry and Connie (Messer) Bowen. She was employed at Kable News in Mount Morris for 20 years. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Polo. Trudi adored her son, grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and loved spending time with them. She was an avid Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks and Bears fan. She will be missed by her dog, Alli.
Survivors include her son, Dylan (Suzanna Farny) Bowen of Sterling; her siblings, Dustin (Gwenn) Bowen of Chicago, Jaime (Chris Thompson) Bowen of Dixon, Georgi Scharenberg of Polo, Gina Greene of Chipley, Florida, Gigi Alter of Minneapolis, Yancy (Sheila) Webster of Polo and Doug (Tina) Dobbs of South Beloit; two grandchildren, Marlee Bowen and Cooper Bowen; three nephews, Jonathan, Jonah and Jakob; one niece, Madelyn; her stepmother, Karen Bowen of Polo; her stepgrandmother, Irene Peterson of Polo; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Polo, with the Rev. Terrie Wilder officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
