A fire broke out in an apartment complex Wednesday evening in Bolingbrook, officials said.
Bolingbrook police and fire crews responded about 4:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 500 block of Preston Drive, near the Promenade shopping center, for reports of fire and smoke coming from the building’s roof, Deputy Police Chief Mike Rompa said.
Upon arrival, police and fire personnel were able to evacuate the building and immediately contain the fire, which originated in the attic, Rompa said.
About 10 apartments’ residents are being relocated because of water damage. Management from the complex and the American Red Cross were at the scene to assist.
There were no injuries reported, and the incident remained under investigation Wednesday night.
