5 arrested in Streator drug bust

Five people were arrested Tuesday in Streator on drug charges after the Tri-DENT drug task force and Streator Police Department carried out search warrants.

Tri-DENT conducted a controlled purchase of less than 1 gram of crack cocaine Tuesday from a residence at 202 W. 10th St.

Following the purchase, a vehicle driven by Brittany N. Savage, 26, Wenona, and occupied by Eric S. Gholson, 35, Wenona, left the residence.

Tri-DENT had a search warrant for the residence as well as for Savage and Gholson.

Streator Police conducted a traffic stop on Savage's vehicle at North Park and East Bluff streets and took the duo to the Streator Police Department for further investigation.

At about 6:45 p.m., the Streator Emergency Response Team as well as Tri-DENT agents conducted a search warrant at the 10th Street residence. Police said agents located multiple items used in the processing, packaging and use of crack cocaine as well as items used in the packaging and use of heroin.

Robert Gula, 55, Streator, Alexander T. King, 28, Streator, and James R. Stillwell, 53, Streator, were at the house and taken to the Streator Police Department.

Following the investigation, King was held on a La Salle County warrant stemming from a lengthy Tri-DENT investigation of heroin sales in Streator where King had delivered heroin to Tri-DENT agents on several occasions, according to police.

Gula, Savage and Gholson were charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.

Additionally, Stillwell was held on a failure to appear in court warrant from an unrelated charge in La Salle County.

All of them were taken to La Salle County Jail.
