Spring at the Dickson-Murst Farm invites families to enjoy a simpler time

Experience a simpler time of life on the farm with animals, farm equipment and just being outside in the fresh air during Spring at the Dickson-Murst Farm from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 6, in Montgomery.

This free event features crafts for the kids, face painting, barrel rides, farm demonstrations and live farm animals to pet while enjoying tasty vittles from the Country Kitchen and listening to live bluegrass music. Antique trucks and tractors will also be on display.

Students from the Newark Chapter of Future Farmers of America will have their farm animals at the event and also will be selling annuals and hanging baskets.

The Kendall County 4-H clubs will have projects for kids that they can take home.

This event is sponsored by Allied First Bank of Oswego and is made possible by the support of the Dickson-Murst Farm Partners, a volunteer group of The Conservation Foundation, who maintain the farm buildings and organize special events such as this to raise money through donations and food sales.

Free parking is available and the event will go on rain or shine. Dickson-Murst Farm is located at 2550 Dickson Road in Montgomery, south of Route 30 and north of Galena Road.
