Crest Hill massage parlor employee arrested on prostitution charge

Suspect propositioned an undercover cop, police say

JOLIET – A woman working for a massage parlor was arrested in Crest Hill for allegedly propositioning a man and an undercover police officer, authorities said.

On March 22, Baoxia Li, 52, of the 200 block of West 19th Street in Chicago was arrested on a charge of prostitution in connection with the alleged incidents. Li has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

A man had reported to Crest Hill police that he was allegedly propositioned by one of the employees of I Spa, 2218 Plainfield Road, when he went there for a massage, said Crest Hill Deputy Police Chief Tony Rossetti.

An undercover police officer went in and Li allegedly patted his groin and propositioned him, Rossetti said. Shortly thereafter, she was arrested.

Last year, authorities shut down 7 Day Spa, 2430 Plainfield Road, following the arrests of Mickey Ye, 32, of Chicago, on a charge of prostitution, and Wanting Yu, 41, of Chicago, on charges of battery obstructing a police officer.

Both pleaded guilty to battery and the obstruction charge against Yu was dropped.

“This one, as far as we know, it’s only one lady that was involved,” Rossetti said.
