Woman opens floral shop on Elm Place

PRINCETON — Quinta Naffziger recently decided she want to open her own floral shop after working in the industry for a number of years.

“I always thought about it, and this is a good time in my life since the kids are almost through high school,” she said about opening “blooms on elm” (Naffziger does not capitalize the store’s name) at 14 Elm Place in Princeton. ”The time seemed good.”

Naffziger of Princeton said the building space for blooms on elm is the perfect size for her. “It is a nice addition to the north end,” she said.

Naffziger attended American Academy of Floral Arts in Chicago, a floral design school, many years ago. Since then, she worked for a number of years and then stayed home to raise her children.

After working part time in the floral industry at several area shops, Naffziger finally decided to open her own shop.

She does fresh cut flowers for weddings, funerals, and other events like proms or homecoming. Naffziger has also helped with the annual auction at St. Bede Academy.

She also sells green and blooming plants, a new trend growing in popularity, and some silk flower arrangements.

blooms on elm offers a delivery service and is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. The shop is closed on Sundays.

Naffziger can be reached at 815-915-8537 or through Instagram. Naffziger also has a Facebook presence for blooms on elm. Her website address is bloomsonelm.net.
