Police cite 5 in fight that injured 3

McHENRY – Police cited five people involved in an argument that ended with at least two people wielding a baseball bat and three being sent to the hospital, officials said.

McHenry police and the McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded to a call about 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of West Hunter Path in McHenry, police and fire officials said.

Officers issued disorderly conduct citations to all five people involved, McHenry Deputy Police Chief Thomas Walsh said in an email Thursday.

Cited in connection with the fight are Bernard A. Stott, 31, of the 10800 block of White Oaks Road, Harvard; David J. Stott, 28, of the 400 block of Andrea Court, Harvard; 35-year-old Antonio M. Figueroa; 35-year-old Jose L. Morales-Gomez; and 33-year-old Veronica Morales.

Figueroa, Morales and Morales-Gomez all live in the 3200 block of West Hunter Path, McHenry.

The fight broke out when brothers David and Bernard Stott arrived at the Hunter Path home and began arguing with Figueroa, according to an order of protection filed in McHenry County court.

Morales went inside to call the police, and when she came out, the Stotts had dragged Figueroa onto the lawn and started to beat him, the order stated.

Morales-Gomez and Morales also were punched and kicked in the ribs, according to the order of protection.

In the court filing, Morales stated that she saw David Stott go to his car and come back with an object in his hand. She then grabbed a baseball bat from the garage, which he took and used to beat Morales-Gomez with, according to the order.

One Harvard resident and two McHenry residents were taken to Centegra Hospital – McHenry with minor injuries, and a second fight took place there. It is unclear which of the five people needed medical attention.

Daniel R. Stott, 25, of the 5900 block of Chestnut Street, Roscoe, was arrested and charged with assault in connection with the second incident, Walsh said.

Daniel Stott was not involved in the original altercation on Hunter Path and declined to comment on the altercation when reached by phone Wednesday. Residents of the home where police responded on Hunter Path also previously declined to comment on the incident. Bernard Stott and David Stott could not be reached for comment as of Thursday night.
