ST. CHARLES – The business 1st Place Chiropractic, 1750 E. Main St., St. Charles, will collect food for the Northern Illinois Food Bank during office hours from Dec. 4 to 9.
In past years 1st Place Chiropractic has collected between 2,000 and 4,000 pounds of food annually, which is distributed to the community through the local food bank. The business also serves homemade cookies and cider during the event. It donates $5,000 or more in new patient services by offering a free exam, consultation and up to four X-rays if needed in exchange for an appropriate food donation.
Suggested food donations include canned vegetables, canned tuna and chicken, canned stews, canned and dry instant soups, and canned spaghetti sauce. Glass containers, perishables or baby food cannot be accepted.
Participants will receive one entry to win door prizes per case or bag of food brought in. The biggest donor will automatically win a prize. Prizes are donated by local businesses, including: Colonial Cafe, Olive Garden, Chili’s, Fuller’s Carwash, Houlihan’s, Panera Bread, Starbucks, and TGI Fridays.
