OREGON – Through an Agriculture in the Classroom program at Ogle and Carroll county, elementary students learned about growing apple trees and the life cycle of pumpkins this fall through University of Illinois College of Agriculture.
The children also created crafts, including tree decorating for each season, pumpkin book illustrations, and apple and pumpkin chains.
According to a news release, Ag in the Classroom is a program to help students gain a greater awareness of the role of agriculture in the economy and society.
