Huntley trustees to review plans for new Jewel-Osco on Route 47

HUNTLEY – A new grocery store might be coming to Huntley.

Plans for a new Jewel-Osco will be reviewed by Huntley trustees Thursday night at a Committee of the Whole meeting.

The new 62,794-square-foot building is proposed for the northeast corner of
Route 47 and Reed Road, according to village documents.

The Jewel-Osco would include a drive-thru pharmacy and a Starbucks coffee shop, documents show.

The building will be designed with brick, architectural cladding and storefront windows, according to preliminary plans.

If trustees like the idea, the developers will be referred to the village’s Plan Commission to begin a formal development review process.

A Jewel-Osco already exists in Huntley at 13200 Village Green Drive, across from Sun City of Huntley. It wasn’t immediately clear whether that location would be affected.
