JOLIET – A gas station in Joliet sold a $1 million winning Powerball ticket in Saturday's drawing, according to the Illinois Lottery.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Mickey’s One Stop, 1415 Plainfield Road and matched five numbers – 11 - 21 - 28 - 33 - 45 — to win a $1 million prize in the Saturday drawing.
The retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winner to immediately sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the Lottery’s five Prize Centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.
More than 33,000 players won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000 in this Powerball drawing. Powerball drawings are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. The jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing currently stands at $307 million.
