Police: Romeoville man shot at kitchen floor

ROMEOVILLE – Romeoville police arrested a man for allegedly firing his pistol into the floor of his kitchen.

At 3:44 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to the home of Hector Escobar, 36, in the 200 block of Zinnia Drive, after being contacted about shots being fired in his home, according to a Romeoville police news release.

When the officers arrived at Escobar’s home, they learned that he allegedly fired one round into the floor of the kitchen, and they placed him under arrest on a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm.

The officers found a .45-caliber Glock 30 pistol inside Escbar’s home, police said. Escobar reportedly has a valid firearm owner’s identification card and concealed carry license.

Escobar was taken to the Romoeville Police Department and then booked into the Will County jail at 7:37 a.m., according to the county jail log.

Escobar faces one count of a reckless discharge of a firearm and one count of reckless conduct, according to court records.
