Plainfield man killed after hitting empty vehicle

PLAINFIELD – A Plainfield man was killed in a car crash after hitting an empty vehicle on the side of the road.

Tommy Fincher, 25, was pronounced dead after the crash at 12:28 a.m. on June 18, said Kendall County Coroner Jacquie Purcell.

Fincher was driving a pickup truck westbound on Interstate 80 near Minooka when he struck an empty, broken down vehicle on the side of the road. After the crash, he was thrown from his own truck.

The cause of death was blunt force trauma, Purcell said.
