DIXON – Two of four people charged in a series of vehicle break-ins at two Dixon apartment complexes in January have been sentenced in Lee County Court.
Tyler W. Brumfield, 19, of Dixon, pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to 4 years’ probation; six other burglary charges and a criminal damage to property charge were dismissed.
His 16-year-old Whiteside County accomplice pleaded guilty to burglary and criminal damage to property, and was released from a juvenile facility on time served. The teen also must pay restitution, Lee County State’s Attorney Matt Klahn said.
Dylan W. Fullington, 22, of Springfield, Missouri, and a 17-year-old boy from Whiteside County also are charged with eight counts of burglary and criminal damage to property, a misdemeanor. Fullington pleaded not guilty. His next court date is May 10. Information on the juvenile was not provided.
Burglary carries 7 to 14 years in prison.
The break-ins happened around 5 a.m. Jan 12. at Dixon Square Apartments, 1540 Freedom Walk, and Canterbury House Apartments, 1501 Lowell Park Road.
According to court documents, Brumfield told detectives that the four split $140 in cash; they also took two Walmart gift cards and several purses that they discarded.
