McDonald's on Broadway in Joliet holds ribbon cutting for grand re-opening of restaurant

JOLIET – The McDonald’s at 1555 N. Broadway in celebrated its grand re-opening Aug. 25 with a ribbon, cake cutting and VIP party.

Marvin Spence, the owner-operator of the restaurant, said in a news release he was proud to bring Joliet an upscale new McDonald’s for the community to enjoy for years to come.

Among those in attendance at a VIP party Aug. 25 were friends, colleagues, City employees, Joliet Chamber members and representatives from the local schools.

State Reps. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, and Larry Walsh Jr., D-Elwood, both spoke and thanked Marvin for being a part of Joliet. Mayor Bob O’Dekirk told Marvin how thrilled they are to have him at this location and for his involvement in the community. Jim Carras, McDonald’s Chicago Region Vice President and General Manager also spoke.

The event featured complimentary McDonald’s appetizers, smoothies and a cake. The event featured a special appearance by Ronald McDonald. Mike Paone, vice president of the Joliet Chamber, and Danielle Blake, Joliet Chamber account executive, coordinated the ribbon cutting at the party.

Grand re-opening events are scheduled to run through Sept. 11.
