Lockport’s Heritage Corridor commuter lot launches Passport app

LOCKPORT – Lockport has introduced Passport, a mobile app aimed at making parking easier at the city’s Heritage Corridor Commuter lot.

Passport is a mobile payments provider for parking and transit in North America, and Lockport is using it at its Metra commuter lot location. The app allows users to manage their parking directly from their phone, according to a news release from the city.

Passport allows users to pay for daily parking, monitor their session, and view all parking history. When paying to park, users will pre-fund their Lockport Wallet with a minimum amount of $20 up to a maximum of $100. Funds can be added in $10 increments.

“We’re excited to launch this new parking initiative at the Heritage Corridor Commuter Lot,” City Administrator Ben Benson said in the news release. “Metra riders will save time by using the new Passport app and will no longer have to worry about walking up to the pay box. When everything can be managed from the convenience of your phone, it makes the entire process seamless.”

The universal validation code 60441 is being used during the app’s launch, and users who enter it into the app can receive one free daily rate of parking. This promotion includes the $1 daily parking rate as well as the 37 cents convenience fee for using the app, according to the news release.

Passport signage in the Metra lot will provide instructions for downloading and using the app, including the location’s zone number, 60441.

The PassportParking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at ppprk.com.
