Winners from Crystal Lake Open Water Swim Race on Saturday

CRYSTAL LAKE – Cameron Bentley, 14, of Huntley, placed first overall at the Crystal Lake Open Water Swim Race on Saturday at Main Beach with a time of 14:59.6 in the 1-mile swim.

Crystal Lake's Val Tarazi, who finished 68th in the U.S. Olympic Trials on June 27, took second with a time of 15:34.4. Tarazi, 16, will be a junior at Prairie Ridge in the fall.

Logan Dahlke, 15, of Lakewood, was third, Lakewood’s Grant Dahlke was sixth, Crystal Lake’s Carley Frisch was ninth, Crystal Lake’s Gabriella McElroy was 10th, and Lakewood’s Morgan Dahlke was 12th.

Barrington’s Matt Keller, 46, finished first in the 2-mile swim with a time of 30:07.2, Crystal Lake’s Roy Scott was sixth, Lake in the Hills’ Jessica Socko was eighth, McHenry’s Lex Pegues was 11th, and Lake in the Hills’ Elizabeth Michael was 12th.
