Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio closing its doors in Sterling

Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Sterling is closing after more than 3 decades in business. The studio began a closing sale Monday that will last through the studio's final business day on June 24. (Michael Krabbenhoeft)

STERLING – Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Sterling is closing its doors after 34 years.

Owner Cindy Fane, 56, is retiring, and closing up shop at 806 E. Third St. June 24 is her last day.

“It goes without saying the most difficult part of this decision involved you, my loyal customers, as well as my dedicated staff,” Fane said in a flier announcing her closing. “I am grateful for your friendship and support throughout the years.”

Fane also sells Pandora jewelry and Vera Bradley products.

L.A.-based Merle Norman Cosmetics sells its line of skin care and cosmetic products through independently owned and operated studios in the U.S. and Canada.

After June 24, the nearest one will be at 791 Middle Road in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The Sterling studio is open from 9 a.m. to
5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
